Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone is an interesting fantasy and adventurous tale which mesmerizes people in such a way that they cannot move their eyes away from the screen . A wonderful movie, considered a legend by many which can be watched and enjoyed by all ages. It is a mysterious magical movie which takes us to a new world.
It shows us many themes, like the theme of bravery, friendship and most importantly the introduction of magic to real life. It gives us the point of view of common people for whom magic is just a stupid fantasy tale.
Harry, an orphan boy living with his uncle and aunt, gets to know some secrets about his parents, about himself and lands up in a new magical world of Hogwarts new to him. He meets new people, makes new friends, saves someone he doesn’t like from a mountain troll and most importantly takes a big task of saving the PHILOSOPHER’S STONE in his hand and comes face to face with the person who killed his parents, the one whose name shattered all, LORD VOLDEMORT.
The Harry Potter series is not just famous because of the fantasy but also because of the real life lessons it taught us. It is a motivational story telling us to never lose hope and stand strong in the darkest of times. It also tells us not to judge people from their appearances, and that always the people who act in a way you disapprove doesn’t actually mean that the person is bad or a person who is friendly is a good human. For example, In the movie Snape was rude towards Harry, Harry felt Snape was evil, but he was actually wrong. Snape actually tried to save his life.
The acting and the dialogue delivery of the actors is fabulous. Each scene is so well acted that everything looks real. The dialogues are very well written and delivery is clear (kudos to its successful actors). They are realistic and lots of thought work has been put on the script. The movies do justice to its books, but can never beat a true readers experience. The places, the spells, the fantasy animals, everything looks real.
All of the things in the movie were fantasy work done with the help of picturization but the castle was real. Most of the fiction parts were shot behind a green screen. They used many real locations as evocating backdrops. Innumerable questions appear with every flash of this film, like-
Do we do the wrong thing by judging people so soon?
What is magic after all?
What should we value in people?
What is the purpose of life?
What happens when people work as a team?
What if *I* am the chosen one?
We might already know the answer to all these questions but watching the movie gives us another point of view of all these questions and helps us to understand them better.
Every movie achieves something, this movie did too. It did not just make a separate place in the hearts of people but also brought up some important questions and values of life that we need to think about.
