These days COVID 19 has locked up the school children. It is a fatal respiratory disease of SARS family virus. Although schools on zoom connect students, parents and teachers improve the skills of students, and enhances communication. The time to practice and learn this digital medium at home improves the IT skills of not only students but also parents and teachers. School dress is not necessary but simple dress and routine hygiene follow ups- like bathing, brushing teeth twice daily and other habits for maintaining hygiene should be a compulsion for all.
The room where you "go to school" can be filled with soothing fragrances of certain scents such as that of lavender and other essential oil. This can help you feel more relaxed and refreshed. The room should be airy and should have proper ventilation. Sunlight should enter the room and it should be well lit. This improves pupils’ performance in the terms of their speed, increases levels of attention and concentration and lowers the rates of absenteeism. Sunlight also synchronizes our biological clock, boosts our mental health, stimulates the brain and changes the mood by enhancing the chemical serotonin. Serotonin affects students' appetite, and acts as an effective natural anti-depressant. Meanwhile, a healthy indoor environment of your home makes students brighter. Global Action Plan, the Philips Foundation and the University of Manchester (UoM) revealed that maintaining lower air pollution levels by 20% could improve the development of a child’s working memory by 6.1%.
Even though the blue light of electronics are very harmful for students' eyesight, it also effects our biological clock, suppresses the production of melatonin and sends a signal to the brain demanding it to stay awake, increasing the rate of obesity and diabetes in children. A lack of exposure to natural light and the use of fluorescent desk lamps increase the rates of myopia amongst children. The young eyes and brains are bombarded with artificial, high-energy blue light of electronics, damaging their vision. Reducing your child's exposure to blue light can be a challenge, especially during these times. Luckily, we have blue light blocking products like blue light protector and blue light glasses, specially designed for children that protects children's vision and in turn, their health.
Encourage your child to spend as much time as possible outdoors during the day away from screens, exposed to natural blue light waves. This will boost their overall energy, alertness and mood.
